The Interlake Youth Choir
The IYC is a group of music teachers, community members, and students that are committed to showing Manitoba that the Interlake is home to some of the best musical talent to be found anywhere. We want to give you the opportunity to shine. Please sign up to audtion and become part of the music!
Leanne Cooper-Carrier
Leanne has a passion for singing that began at a young age and lead her to pursue a Bachelor of Choral Music at Canadian Mennonite University, as well as a Bachelor of Education from the University of Manitoba. She has loved working in Manitoban schools as a choral educator, with a variety of program types and age groups, since 2010.
Aside from her role as an educator, Leanne has developed her skills as a director through her work as a guest conductor for the Central Manitoba Choral Association and as a choir clinician for various high school ensembles. Most notably, Leanne was honoured to be one of the co-directors of Horizon a choir in the Prairie Voices family. We are thrilled to have her join our IYC family.

Beth Emmers - Accompanist 2019
Beth grew up in Lethbridge, Alberta and has been playing piano since she could reach the keys. She became involved in any musical experience she could find including; musical theater, festivals, chamber choir, jazz choir, and church choirs. Beth studied jazz piano at Humber College in Toronto, Ontario. After college she moved to Utah and met her husband, Jason, and is now a busy mother of 4 beautiful girls. She keeps busy writing, arranging, accompanying choirs, teaching group piano classes and is the music coordinator for her church across Manitoba
